The « Saint Joseph’s year »

The Saint Joseph’s year is : time spent with God,
Prayer life is essential.
It’s a long conversation like this with the Lord that
allows one to hear and answer his call.

The year is orientated around two poles : formation (a human and spiritual base for Christian life) and discernment

The saint Josephers vary : some are students or just finishing their studies, others have taken a sabbatical year in their career.

The St. Joseph’s year gives special priority to the human formation. The year is full of community and fraternal life, on a daily basis ! The house is broken up into apartments (maisonée) from 6 to 8 young men.

The « maisonée » or household is where it all begins : meals, chores (cooking, cleaning, washing, groceries…) One of the members is given the responsibility of the “maisonée”, who’s attentive to the unity and charity of the group.

The house follows a rhythm of prayer (praise and Evening prayer), daily Mass and Adoration ; the neighbours are welcome to join in the times of prayer.

The staff is composed of the vocations co-ordinator, another priest, a sister consecrated in celibate life, and a married couple.

Today there are four « St. Joseph’s” houses around the world : Namur (Belgium), Abidjan (Ivory Coast), Kinshasa (Congo), Kigali (Rwanda)
