Since the very beginnings of the Emmanuel Community, Pierre Goursat
(founder) saw the importance of priestly vocations
His concern was that the priests remain all
throughout their lives in the desire for holiness and become true missionaries.
He felt that priests should not be alone, but rather be surrounded by brothers and sisters ; not only by priests but also by lay people who share the same gift from God and evangelise together.

Emmanuel priests work in dioceses and on missions.
Most have a parish ministry, some teach, others are on missions, and
some work full-time for Community initiatives
|
| Today the Emmanuel Community has over 180 priests in
countries all around the world : France, Germany, Austria, Belgium,
Spain, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania,
Slovakia, Slovenia, Cameroon, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ivory
Coast, Rwanda, Peru, Brazil, Australia… |
There are presently
over 140 young men on their way to the priesthood.
Priests of the Community along with the other members live a common call marked by the Outpouring of the Holy Spirit.
They wish to evangelise in a bold way and be bearers of hope.
They live in a spirit of
praise, seized by the mystery of the Eucharist, moved with compassion for those
who do not know the love of God… |
| together with their
brothers and sisters in the Community they wish to be authentic witnesses of
God’s love. |
