The Emmanuel Community organises many retreats throughout the world. You may already be familiar with the summer sessions at Paray-le-Monial. Did you know that retreats are organised during the year as well ? This year we invite you also to the 49th International Eucharistic Congress in Quebec, Canada.

"The Eucharist, gift of God for the life of the World"



Experience a great moment in the Church by participating in the 49th International Eucharistic Congress in 2008 in Quebec, Canada, with the Emmanuel Community, from 14 - 24 June 2008


The 49th International Eucharistic Congress will take place in Quebec, the birthplace of faith in North America, and it will be integrated with major events celebrating the 400th anniverary of the foundation of the town of Quebec.


The theme of the Congress is: "The Eucharist, gift of God for the life of the World".

In an itinerary that is like that of the disciples of Emmaus, all the participants of the Congress will be invited to make a pilgrimage so as to live a truly Eucharistic experience and to discover the Eucharist and the source and summit of Christian life.

 Programme :

  • Mornings:  teachings, testimonies and Eucharist.

The Principal speakers will be:  cardinals Marc Ouellet (Québec), Philippe Barbarin (Lyon), Yvan Dias (Congregation for the Evangelisation of Peoples, Rome), Christian Tumi (Douala, Cameroun) and Jean Vanier, Nicolas Buttet, José Prado Flores…

  • Afternoons: the Emmanuel Community proposes the following:
  • Workshops with Bernard Peyrous, Richard Borgman, Laurent Landete and Jean-Luc Moens; Evangelization in the town; Round Table discussions.
  •  Pilgrimage to Sainte Anne de Beaupré and a stop at the Montmorency falls on Wednesday
  • Procession with the Blessed Sacrament in the town on Thursday
  • Visit to the Oratory of Saint Joseph in Montreal .

PARAY-LE-MONIAL

Today nearly 300,000 pilgrims come every year to Paray-le-Monial.

The effects of Paray-le-Monial spread through the summer sessions, which are retreats. Alone or with their family, people can experience God's mercy there.

The members of the Emmanuel Community organise sessions and retreats in many different countries :

Local communities and apostolic branches are the base for these retreats. The places may change from year to year. They are organised in Europe as well as different countries of Africa, Asia, Australia, North and South America.
