Fellowhip – Action – Sharing
- Fellowship :
“Together in order to learn and help one another”
Born of the experience that young men need to spend
time together as men, FAS focuses on friendship and fraternal bonds. Each one
needs to be able to call on the others because “a brother relying on another
brother is like a indestructible fortress.” Fellowship is the foundation of the
group: we laugh, eat and drink together. A celebration of life! - Action :
“Ability to act, to live out one's will by accomplishing something; concrete
manifestation of this will”
One of the goals of this project is to develop
masculine virtues through action : performing gifts of self, selflessness,
courage, physical effort, exercising one's will power, improving decision
making skills and building self-knowledge and other key themes. For this
reason, FAS includes not only sports but also volunteering (charitable
activities, organizing pilgrimages, reaching out to the poorest and other
outreach programs).
- Sharing :
“Doing something together or having something in common with others”
The core group of the FAS is the household (five or
six people who gather for a time of prayer and sharing on a weekly basis). What
for ? To build one another up through sharing how the living Word of God acts in
our personal lives, a new enthusiasm for the mission, and evangelization. The
household is also a place of praise and prayer since the goal of the FAS
members is to grow closer to Christ and be more faithful to Him.
